In the near future I hope to make a movie involving free-running or parkour. It would be an action film where free-runners use their abilities to evade the police. There would (hopefully) be very little need for special effects, especially if i could use real free runners. For certain camera shots after effects would be perfect for green screen work. ANYWAY, this opening chase scene is similar to a chase in my would-be movie

I actually deleted my project from my hard drive after discussing last class and cannot seem to be able to get it back. So instead I'm going to post my progress on my Final project as I go.

#1-there is a lot of stuff on the counter- my unopened ipod speakers that i wont use- i think the pink post it on the fridge has been there for over 2 months- the lowered ceiling area probably houses the ventillation-never use the bar stools-need to throw away the red swim trunks-the front door is really high/tall-the cupboard doors dont close up top- the food on the fridge is also old and unused-i could have used my girlfriends black headphones

This video entitled, 'Nokta' posted by Onur Senturk inspired me at a very creative level. I love how the objects keep evolving and forming into new shapes that resemble abstract things.

As cheezy as it is, Zack Snyder's style especially in 300 is one of my biggest influences as a visual filmmaker. I love how he uses filters and coloring. I think, at the time 300 was super original in it's very golden-ish mythic look. I am also nuts about slo-mo lately. Dave Chappelle was absolutely right when he said, "Everything looks better in slow motion". Loved how that was incorporated in the video that Phil posted as well. ...on a random note, check out this blog for some crazy gra...

I really like this video. I found it a couple years ago and it makes me happy every time I watch it. I like the way they use colors to direct your eyes to a particular spot in the frame!

#1 crickets chriping, the fan of the computer, the reflection of the lamp on the window, a car alarm goes off outside, the pulse of my heart, the luster of my chair, the wood pannels on the floor, the light eminating off the computer , the simplicity of objects on the desk (camera, phone, pencils), the magazine i use as a mouse pad

I thought Big Fish used a lot of cool techniques and there were a few in this scene. I was always curious how to fuse the still shot with a character moving through it as well as how they interact like when he goes through the hoop or the popcorn falls. Would that be done through After Effects?

I think this does a good job of being creative as well as making you think. I also love the way the song was remixed.

Augmented Reality a Go-Go If you don't already know this, Augmented reality is the way of the future. This video explores the ups and downs of where our world is heading when augmented reality becomes a standard part of perception.

I have been in the mood for action movies lately. Matrix is one of my favorites, and the way it was filmed makes for an easy after effects project. This is a good example for something i would like to do in the future.

The animation starts around the 2:45 mark and I was hoping to do that kind of style for my documentary. Is that done on After Effects or can something similar be done?

SKIP TO 1MIN 25 SECONDS on "Hero". This week I am putting up a few videos for my Inspiration. I really like animation, as well as kung fu / samurai movies and what not. The opening credits for champloo must have used backgrounds with comps on top, right? I am not sure how animation is done, I just really like cartoons. Anyway I aslo enjoy good opening credits that are enjoyable to watch and not simple boring black and white print.
