I posted some of my projects in my inspiration thread so I figured I create and actual projects thread

I guess this is on display at the lacma now...

I actually deleted my project from my hard drive after discussing last class and cannot seem to be able to get it back. So instead I'm going to post my progress on my Final project as I go.

Mustache project...

Tonight one of the worlds most intense directors has a premiere of his new film.

Sometimes we need a new perspective. The other day I lay down in the road and looked back over my head. The road became the sky and the sky became the road. Why do we always look at things right side up? Sometimes things are more interesting when we look at them in ways we've never looked at them before.

I have been in the mood for action movies lately. Matrix is one of my favorites, and the way it was filmed makes for an easy after effects project. This is a good example for something i would like to do in the future.

The animation starts around the 2:45 mark and I was hoping to do that kind of style for my documentary. Is that done on After Effects or can something similar be done?

THe music is inspirational along with the highly saturated color and camera work.

This class is not only about learning the tools, but having ideas to actually create with the tools.

cool. weird, but cool.

As cheezy as it is, Zack Snyder's style especially in 300 is one of my biggest influences as a visual filmmaker.  I love how he uses filters and coloring.  I think, at the time 300 was super original in it's very golden-ish mythic look. I am also nuts about slo-mo lately.  Dave Chappelle was absolutely right when he said, "Everything looks better in slow motion".  Loved how that was incorporated in the video that Phil posted as well.

I think this does a good job of being creative as well as making you think.  I also love the way the song was remixed.

In the near future I hope to make a movie involving free-running or parkour. It would be an action film where free-runners use their abilities to evade the police. There would (hopefully) be very little need for special effects, especially if i could use real free runners. For certain camera shots after effects would be perfect for green screen work. ANYWAY, this opening chase scene is similar to a chase in my would-be movie
